While many hotels, large shops, and taxis in tourist areas accept Euros, the official currency is the Albanian Lek (ALL). You will get a better exchange rate using Lek, and small cafes, local markets, and public buses usually only accept Lek. It is recommended to withdraw Lek from an ATM upon arrival.
