UPDATED — Road Closure / Reopening Notice (as of March 3, 2026)
Since February 21, 2026, the Librazhd–Prrenjas road axis had been completely impassable due to a massive landslide at Arrat e Gurrës, and all vehicle and pedestrian movement was prohibited by the Albanian Road Authority (ARRSH). This closure affected the main and fastest route between Tirana and Korçë.
New ARRSH Update: Starting March 3, 2026, at 12:00 midday, the ARRSH has announced that traffic will be restored on the Librazhd–Prrenjas axis. A temporary, provisional diversion route has been constructed next to the original alignment, and all vehicles will be allowed to use this route. The road will operate with construction signage and lane controls, and the surface will remain unpaved temporarily until final stabilization and paving are completed.
Note: While this reopening restores traffic flow, the final alternative route construction and full reconstruction of the original segment remain ongoing, and travelers should observe signage and instructions from road authorities.
