Ksamil — The most famous beach in Albania and for good reason. Four small islands sit just offshore creating calm, turquoise lagoon-like water. The sand is fine and white. It’s crowded in July–August but magical in June and September. Located 4 km south of Sarandë near the Greek border. Sarandë Beach — A long curved bay right in the town center. Convenient, lively, and great for people who want restaurants and bars within walking distance. Water is clean and calm. Best for families and first-time visitors to the Riviera.
Borsh — Albania’s longest beach at over 7 km of grey-brown pebbles. Far less crowded than Ksamil or Dhërmi. Crystal clear water, dramatic mountain backdrop, and a slow pace. Perfect for travelers who want to escape the crowds. Dhërmi — One of the most beautiful bays on the entire Riviera. Blue-green water, white pebbles, surrounded by olive groves and steep cliffs. Has a buzzing summer nightlife scene around Luciano Beach Club. Gets crowded in August.
Himarë — A long beach with a mix of sand and pebbles split into several smaller coves. The town is charming with a Greek-Albanian character and great seafood restaurants. Less party-focused than Dhërmi, better for a relaxed stay. Jale — A small, relatively sheltered bay between Dhërmi and Himarë. Popular with campers and younger travelers. Relaxed vibe, clear water, basic facilities. One of the most laid-back spots on the Riviera.
Palasë / Green Coast — A long, less-developed stretch of beach north of Dhërmi. Home to the Green Coast resort. Quieter than Dhërmi with equally stunning water. Qeparo — One of the quietest and most authentic beaches on the Riviera. A small, pebbly bay backed by an ancient hilltop village. Very few tourists even in peak season.
Shëngjin — Albania’s main Adriatic beach, 60 km north of Tirana. Sandy, long, and popular with Albanian families. Not as visually dramatic as the Riviera but great for budget travelers staying near Tirana. Velipojë — A wild, undeveloped sandy beach near Shkodër in the north. No infrastructure, no crowds, no sunbeds. Great for nature lovers and those who want total solitude.
